Instagram hashtags that you should be using

Have you ever been wondering which are Instagram hashtags that you should be using? If your answer is yes, then this post is for YOU!

Due to huge popularity of this platform, there are millions of hashtags on Instagram. People use them when sharing their photos, but they also use them when searching for something they’re interested in.

Instagram allows you to use 30 hashtags under one post. I highly recommend using hashtags. Furthermore, I suggest using all 30! The more hashtags you use the bigger the chances are that someone will see your photo, like it and maybe follow you.

 

 

Why are hashtags important? 

Well, if you want your photo to be discovered by people who don’t follow you yet, you should use hashtags. And not just any hashtag, but the ones related to your photo. For example, if you’re a fashion blogger you’ll be using something like #ootd and not #foodporn. Another example – If you’re a travel blogger you’ll be using #travelawesome and not #entrepreneur. You get the point. I see so many accounts with beautiful photos using a simple hashtag such as #beautiful or #travel. This is completely wrong! For example, under the hashtag #beautiful you’ll find (at this moment) 629 million posts which is WOOOW! A LOT! Because of that your photo will be lost in less than a second of posting. What I’m trying to say is – don’t use hashtags that have so many posts under them. 

 

How to properly use hashtags?

I would suggest to try experimenting with your hashtags. Firstly, try to change them and mix them up a bit for each post. If you use always the same hashtags your posts may look spammy. Secondly, and this is pretty important in this hashtag game – try and spend 10 to 20 minutes every day searching through hashtags you’re using. Like and comment on the posts that are under those hashtags. Thirdly, try to leave genuine comments on posts you actually like. This is important because some people will reply to you and maybe even come to your profile. If they like your photos and your style (whatever it is that you do) you got yourself a new follower. Or even a new Instagram friend.

 

So which Instagram hashtags are the ones you should be using?

I love to explore and search for new hashtags. I spend quite some time on Instagram. As a result, I gathered quite a “collection” of different hashtags from all kinds of niches. I’m happy to share that collection with you.

I’ll write these hashtags by categories. I also promise to update this post every once in a while when I find new and interesting hashtags that you can use.

Try them, play with them, mix them, explore them! And let me know how it goes. I think it’s actually great to use hashtags that have lesser posts because of two things. Firstly, your photo can be discovered quicker and by more people. Secondly, which is way more fun, YOU get to discover some cool people, great photographers, creatives and artists.
