24 amazing virtual museum tours

Most of us are still spending time at home due to Coronavirus pandemic. Sometimes it can be hard to accept all that’s happening in the world right now but I know we’re all doing our best. If you’ve been reading my blog, you may know that I wrote about Thirty things to do in self isolation. In that post one of the things I recommended was taking a virtual museum tour. This morning I came back from a walk with my dog, he fell asleep immediately and I went out on the balcony and took my coffee and my laptop with me. I wanted to do more virtual museum tours and I ended up spending two hours on Google Arts and Culture. I decided to write a post about some of the museums you can visit online. I’ll share the links for each museum I visited and I hope you’ll visit them too. Join me in 24 amazing virtual museum tours.

First, there are 2,500 museums on this beautiful platform. I chose virtual tours through 24 museums. I’ve already been to some of these museums and I hope I can visit other museums from this list. I hope you’ll love them as much as I do.

Let’s begin!

1. The first out of 24 amazing virtual museum tours was Musee d’Orsay Paris. I read the story about museum’s history and then spent some time looking at paintings of Van Gogh, one of my favourite artists of all times. Click on the link here to get to Musee d’Orsay Paris.

2. The second one was (obviously) Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. I found some interesting stories about Van Gogh’s love life and which books were his favourite. I really recommend taking an online tour of Van Gogh’s museum in Amsterdam. Beside these interesting stories you can see his beautiful artwork here.

3. The third museum on my list of 24 amazing virtual museum tours was MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York. (See, I’ve already visited Paris, Amsterdam and New York without leaving my home.) I love Museums of Modern Art in general and visiting MOMA New York online was amazing. I hope I’ll have a chance to see it personally some day.

4. Next one was a virtual tour of the MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York). For fashion lovers – you’re gonna love this museum.

Some of the online exhibits you can see are: Christian Dior: The New Look, Christian Dior: Ball Gowns, Coco Chanel: Modernism.
